The people were under constant observation while inside Gaza, the IDF assured. The suspects were then handed over to the Israel Police for processing.
Several people crossed the border towards the Gaza Strip on Wednesday and were returned to Israel by IDF troops, the army said in a statement.
The people were under constant observation while inside Gaza, the IDF said.
"Troops present in the area were dispatched to the scene and returned them to Israel territory. The civilians were transferred to the Israel Police for further processing."
The IDF also emphasized that "any entrance to combat zones is forbidden, endangers the civilians, and disturbs IDF operations in the area."
Two terrorists killed while crossing Yellow Line
In a separate event on Wednesday, the IDF killed two terrorists who were attempting to cross the Yellow Line border, which divides Gaza into Israeli and Palestinian-controlled areas.
"The terrorists crossed the Yellow Line and approached the troops, posing an immediate threat to them," the military said.
"Following the identification, the troops eliminated one of the terrorists in order to remove the threat," the statement added.
